Welcome back bookish friends! Today I am talking about Richard Osman's The Thursday Murder Club. I know I am late to the party of this brilliant book but this is a blog where I talk about all the books I love. The new, the old and the downright beautiful. So instead of talking about a new release, I'm talking about this book and a corker it is! So before I get into my thoughts, how about I tell you what it's about.

This was perfection if I'd ever seen it.
I'd seen a lot of hype over Richard Osman's debut and it got me thinking. Is it because he's a celebrity? Or is it because he is actually a really good writer? I'm always a bit weary when celebrities release a novel as many people read a book because of the name of the writer other than the writing inside. However, my worries weren't needed as this was just so well done!
I've always been a fan of the old nosy people who investigate murder despite the police telling them to stay out of it. After all, the police are the experts right? I grew up with watching Agatha Christie's Miss Marple and I hoped that this book would have the same vibes.
It has comedy, murder and so many twists and turns, this book is jam packed with clever writing that I was in absolute awe and didn't want it to end. It's most definitely one of those books that you keep saying, "Just one more chapter" and before you know it, it's 2am in the morning. The characters are brilliant and there is so much depth to them that they feel so real. The plot is clever and intriguing throughout and just when you think you have it figured out. BAM. There comes the twist! I guess I'm trying to say is that this book really is worth the hype, it's an amazing book with an amazing cast of characters and wicked suspects, a must read for sure.
If you're a fan of shows like Miss Marple, Murder She Wrote and Midsomer Murdered then you really should give The Thursday Murder Club a read, you might love it!
