Book Review no spoilers I swear!!!
Hello bookish nerds. Today I am talking about The Beach Reads Book Club by the wonderful Kathryn Freeman. I've read a few of Freeman's books before and I've found her to be an author who creates the most heartwarming, sexy and romantically funny novels that I find myself wanting more. But before I get into the review, I'd first like to say thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for sending me an arc in exchange for a book review. All views are my own and unbiased. Now, shall we begin?

The Blurb:
When Lottie Watt is unceremoniously booted out of her uptight book club for not following the rules, she decides to throw the rulebook out the window and start her own club – one where conversation, gin and cake take precedent over actually having read the book!
The Beach Reads Book Club soon finds a home for its meetings at Books by the Bay, a charming bookshop and café owned by gorgeous, brooding Matthew Steele, and as the book club picks heat up, so too does the attraction between Matt and Lottie.
If there’s anything Lottie has learned from the romances she’s been reading, it’s that the greatest loves are the ones hardest earned.
Thoughts:
This was just pure escapism and absolutely gorgeous. From the very first page I was hooked with the story of Lottie and Matt, I couldn't put it down. In fact I didn't want to put it down at all.
Lottie is a strong, independent, beautiful woman who is an electrician and a sucker for a sexy romantic comedy. What I love about Freeman's writing is that she always depicts her female main characters as a strong and independent. I adore how flawlessly she writes Lottie and although she is all the things I said before, she is so much more than her description. She is also vulnerable and doubts herself which makes her feel all the more real.
The other side characters in the book are also extremely well-written. The book club cast in general had me roaring with laughter and sad at certain moments. The cheekiness and heartwarming conversations were truly amazing and the way in which raunchy scenes in books were talked about gave me life. It was exactly how me and my friends talk and just made me smile throughout.
Matt is a complex character with a heart of gold and the chemistry he has with Lottie is hot! It's a slow burn romance that will keep you engaged throughout. I loved this story and the sub plots of the different characters kept me turning the pages.
I dare not say anymore as I fear I will spoil it for you.
Rating: 4* out of 5
After all, tomorrow is another day spent reading.
Till next time,
