A beautiful, uplifting, read. Just an absolute delight!

Book review, no spoilers I swear!!!

Welcome back fellow bookish folk! This is my first review of the year, I know it's been a while but I needed a break to gather me thoughts and now I'm back to share with you this gorgeous new feel-good book by Beth Moran due to be published in early February. I would firstly like to say thank you to netgalley and the publishers for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review. Like all my book reviews, all my views are my own and unbiased. So before I tell you more about this delightful book how about I give you an idea of what it's about?

The Blurb:

Meet Patrick Cooper – desperately down on his luck, and head-over-heels in unrequited love with his best friend Bridget.

Meet Bridget's sister, Emma Donovan - eternally single maker-of-cakes for many a happy couple, whilst never making it down the aisle herself.

Emma has four younger sisters, all of whom are married or getting married, and an Italian mother who can’t understand what is ‘wrong’ with her eldest daughter, who seems to be stranded on the shelf. Despairing of her own ability to find a suitable husband, Emma agrees to be part of a compatibility project to get married at first sight.

Meanwhile Cooper is struggling to get over his crush on Bridget and seems destined to stay firmly on the shelf too. Perhaps it’s time his fate was taken out of his hands…

Is happily-ever-after just about daring to take a chance, or do you need some extra magic to make love last?

Join Beth Moran, Cooper and the Donovan sisters on this life-affirming and uplifting tale of love, family, friendship, and risking it all for happiness.

Thoughts:

Love, family, heartache and drama is exactly what this book is about and you know what? I loved it!!!!

I am unashamedly a fan of Married at First Sight Australia (Have you been watching it? Bronson & Elizabeth were done dirty! Justice for them I say.) So when I read the blurb for this book I knew that I had to read it.

The story is told from the point of view of both Emma and Cooper, written in a way that for me just flowed so well. It played out before me so well that I found myself lost in the world the author had created. I devoured this book in two days (would have been one if I didn't have uni work). It's engaging, fun and filled with so much drama that I found myself completely addicted to it.

Emma's character is strong, smart and independent, the only thing missing is a man to share a life with. Her younger sisters are all in a relationship and there lives are perfect, or so Emma believes. Emma, despite wanting believe that she can be happy without a husband and children is peer pressured into agreeing to being married at first sight.

Cooper on the other hand is looking for a solution to move on from his crush on Bridget, who is getting married to her childhood sweetheart. Cooper was a character I proper felt for, he is someone who tries to do what is right by everyone and wants to believe that going into the experiment will kill any of the feelings he has for Bridget.

The Donovan sisters all have there own troubles and it becomes clear that there relationships with there partners aren't exactly as picture perfect as it seems. They are written with all flaws and imperfections which kept me invested throughout. I'd honestly read a sequel about the Donovan sisters. I loved the bond the sisters and the rest of the family had and the love they shared.

Although this book is about Emma and Cooper and there search for love, this book is about so much more. It covers themes of mental health, infertility, incurable diseases, religion and relationship problems.

I loved this book and I cannot wait to read more by Beth Moran. I was captured from page one to the very last page and above all, I wanted to read more. The ending was beautiful and very fitting for all the characters and if anything, it will leave you with a smile on your face.

Overall, a proper feel-good read.

Rating: 4 out of 5*

After all tomorrow is another day spent reading.

Till next time.
