Time

As human beings we are always running against the clock. We believe we have all the time in the world, we put off things that we don't deem important but when time runs out what are we left with? Regret? Guilt? All of a sudden all the things we should of said or did becomes the unsaid. I wonder how many of us regret the things we left unsaid. I know I regret somethings, things that I should of said but was too afraid to say them for I feared embarrassment. I wonder how many of us say, "I'll do it tomorrow" as if we have all the tomorrows in the world. When suddenly tomorrow is today and the things you were going to do are lost. I believe that life is too short for tomorrows and for not speaking up and leaving things unsaid. Books have taught me a great deal about leaving things unsaid, One Day by David Nicholls, The Unpredictable Consequences of Love by Jill Mansell and more recently, Welcome to the Real World by Carole Matthews. If Evan and Fern had spoken honestly and truthful to one another from the start then they wouldn't of be playing cat and mouse. If they had told one another how they truly felt instead of being afraid from humiliation then they wouldn't of been filled with regret and what ifs.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you need to get something off your chest then do it. If you love someone say it and say it loud, and if they don't feel the same as you then at least you know where you stand and can move forward. If you need to be truthful but can't say the words write a letter, don't live a life full of regrets. Easier said than done right? Imagine how freeing it would be if we didn't leave things unsaid. Be brave.

After all its just another day in the life of the Yorkshire Bookworm,

Till next time,
